Somewhere deep in hot and humid Louisiana there is a small town called Sinful, but their inhabitants are respectable and devout, well-behaved and always busy. There are three ladies in their 70s who rule Sinful since some decades – of course there is a mayor (male), a sheriff (male), business owners (most of them male), but all important decisions are made by the ladies. Once they worked for the military service during the Vietnam war and learnt to survive. When one of them dies her great-niece Sandy-Sue travels to Sinful to settle the inheritance. Entry: Fortune Redding, a CIA killer. During her last assignment her cover was blown, but she escaped. The arms dealer in focus, however, offers now big money if Fortune is killed or handed over to him. So Fortune’s boss decides to hide her in Sinful as his niece Sandy-Sue. The real Sandy-Sue has left the USA for an extended trip to Europe while Fortune may live and work in Sinful. Of course she doesn’t know about the background of the ladies, nor do they know about Fortune’s job. However, rather soon there is a murder case to be solved … and Fortune and the ladies co-operate. Well, there are more murder cases … and Fortune and the ladies are challenged to clear all the mess in this little town with more odd mundane rituals and odd inhabitants you may imagine – you shouldn’t take all the action too serious.
Irgendwo im heißen und feuchten Louisiana gibt es eine kleine Stadt namens Sinful, aber ihre Bewohner sind natürlich anständig und fromm, wohlerzogen und immer fleißig und beschäftigt. Es gibt drei Ladies in ihren 70ern, die Sinful seit einigen Jahrzehnten regieren – natürlich gibt es auch einen Bürgermeister (männlich), einen Sheriff (männlich), Geschäftsleute (die meisten von ihnen männlich), aber alle wichtigen Entscheidungen werden von den Ladies getroffen. Einst arbeiteten sie für den militärischen Geheimdienst während des Vietnamkriegs und lernten so zu überleben. Als eine von ihnen stirbt, reist ihre Großnichte Sandy-Sue nach Sinful, um sich um das Erbe zu kümmern. Auftritt: Fortune Redding, von Beruf CIA-Killerin. Bei ihrem letzten Auftrag flog ihre Tarnung auf, aber sie konnte gerade so entkommen. Der Waffenhändler, der sie jetzt im Visier hat, bietet viel Geld, wenn Fortune getötet oder an ihn ausgeliefert wird. Also beschließt Fortunes CIA-Boss, sie in Sinful als seine Nichte Sandy-Sue zu verstecken. Die echte Sandy-Sue hat die USA für eine längere Reise nach Europa verlassen, während Fortune in Sinful leben und arbeiten darf. Natürlich weiß sie nichts über die Lebensgeschichte der Ladies, noch wissen diese von Fortunes Beruf. Doch schon bald gibt es einen Mordfall zu lösen … und Fortune und die Ladies arbeiten zusammen. Nun, es gibt noch mehr Mordfälle … und Fortune und die Ladies sind immer wieder gefordert, das Chaos in dieser kleinen Stadt mit vielen seltsamen Gepflogenheiten und merkwürdigen Bewohnern aufzuräumen – man sollte alles nicht zu ernst nehmen.
