Capri – eine wunderschöne Insel mit vielen Touristen, eine Insel für reiche Urlauber, ein Urlaubsglück … wenn es nicht auch Kriminalfälle gäbe, speziell wenn Tote auftauchen, die offensichtlich ermordet wurden. Eigentlich ist für solche Fälle die Mordkommission in Neapel zuständig, aber vor Ort gibt es den Polizeiposten Capri mit einigen wenigen Beamten, die sich eher um Kleinkriminalität kümmern. Rizzi und Cirillo, im Grunde Streifenpolizisten, fühlen sich aber immer verpflichtet, den Kollegen aus Neapel unter die Arme zu greifen, auch wenn diese es nicht wollen. Ihr großer Vorteil ist die Kenntnis der Insel und ihrer Bewohner und ihre Erfahrung: Rizzi stammt von Capri und kennt Gott und die Welt und alle Geschichten, die so erzählt werden; Cirillo ist degradiert und strafversetzt worden und kennt alle Tricks bei Ermittlungen und Verhören. Zusammen sind sie ein starkes Team, auch wenn sie oft anecken.
Capri – a beautiful island with many tourists, an island for rich holidaymakers, a holiday bliss … if there were not also criminal cases, especially when dead bodies turn up that have obviously been murdered. Actually, the homicide squad in Naples is responsible for such cases, but locally there is the Capri police station with a few officers who are more concerned with petty crime. Rizzi and Cirillo, who are basically patrolmen, always feel obliged to help their colleagues from Naples, even if they don’t like it. Their great advantage is their knowledge of the island and its inhabitants and their experience: Rizzi comes from Capri and knows God and the world and all the stories that are told; Cirillo has been demoted and punitively transferred and knows all the tricks in investigations and interrogations. Polizeiarbeit und der Rest des Lebens – oder umgekehrt …
Enrico Rizzi und Antonia Cirillo sind Polizisten – Streifenpolizisten. Sie sind auf Capri stationiert und kümmern sich um Verkehrsdelikte und sonstige Kleinkriminalität. Rizzi ist auf Capri geboren, kennt alle Ecken der Insel und natürlich auch alle Einwohner, na ja: fast alle. Cirillo kommt aus dem Norden Italiens, wurde degradiert und nach Capri strafversetzt. Was sie angestellt hat … darüber gibt es erst einmal keine konkreten Informationen. Sie ist fremd auf der Insel und eckt immer wieder leicht an, denn das süditalienische, süße Leben passt nicht ganz zur norditalienischen Lebensart.
Capri ist ein wenig wie ein kleiner Himmel auf Erden, vor allem für die vielen Touristen. Ärger mit den Touristen und gewieften Einwohnern, die mit dem Tourismus ihr Geld verdienen, ist an der Tagesordnung, aber dann gibt es einen Todesfall, der definitiv keine natürliche Ursache hat. Rizzi und Cirillo ermitteln … Es gibt wieder einen Toten, der … und so geht es weiter. Kapitalverbrechen gibt es ab und zu eben auch auf Capri.
Capri fällt in die Zuständigkeit der Mordkommission von Neapel, was der lokalen Polizei nicht unbedingt ins Konzept passt. Die Kollegen vom Festland sind auch nicht besonders begeistert, wenn sie auf die Insel müssen, die für alle eher unbekanntes Terrain ist. Zusammenarbeit ist angesagt, d. h. die Kollegen vom Festland erteilen Aufträge und die Kollegen auf Capri müssen springen.
Soweit die Theorie …
Enrico ist einerseits mit Leib und Seele Polizist und liebt seinen Roller, mit dem er kreuz und quer über die Insel rast. Gleichzeitig ist er die Stütze seines Vaters, der ausgedehnte Gärten pflegt, in denen typisches Obst und Gemüse gezüchtet wird. Seine Familie verdient ihren Lebensunterhalt mit dem Obst- und Gemüseanbau, dessen Produkte in den zahlreichen Restaurants und Hotels der Insel verarbeitet werden. Es ist Knochenarbeit – auch für Enrico – und Enricos Vater ist inzwischen nicht mehr der jüngste …
Es kostet Enrico Zeit, neben seinem Polizeijob den Anforderungen des Familienbetriebs nachzukommen. Der Rest des Lebens fordert ihn … Als ihm eine Stelle in Neapel angeboten wird, lehnt er ab. Ebenso verzichtet er auf einen Fortbildungskurs. Es bleibt spannend, für welche Laufbahn und Karriere sich Enrico letztendlich entscheiden wird.
Er ist um die dreißig, war verheiratet; die Ehe wurde geschieden, als ihr kleiner Sohn im Babyalter starb. Enrico lebt heute mit einer Frau, auch geschieden, und deren Tochter zusammen. Enricos Vater drängt darauf, dass die beiden heiraten und einen Sohn in die Welt setzen. Warten wir ab, was passiert.
Antonia, um die vierzig, war einmal Ermittlerin, bis sie als Streifenpolizistin auf Capri landete. Was sie genau angestellt hat, verbockt hat, wo sie Mist gebaut hat … bleibt erst einmal im Dunkeln. Sie war verheiratet und ist inzwischen geschieden. Ihr Privatleben muss bei der beruflichen Katastrophe eine Rolle gespielt haben. Ihr Ex-Ehemann lebt mit dem gemeinsamen Sohn inzwischen in Schweden, so dass Antonia m it ihrem Sohn nur eine Video-Beziehung pflegt. Mal sehen, was da noch ans Licht kommt und weiterhin passiert.
Sie hat inzwischen einen Mann kennengelernt, mit dem sie zarte Bande knüpft. Es fällt ihr schwer, sich gehen zu lassen und ihr neues Leben zu akzeptieren. Sie ist immer noch dabei, sich auf Capri einzurichten … und sie versteht nicht immer, warum Enrico hier und da einfach mal ein Auge zudrückt. Antonia ist es übrigens auch, die meist die Protokolle schreibt und sich mit der Verwaltung herumschlägt. Enrico schiebt gern diese Aufgaben auf ihren Schreibtisch.
Also haben wir Rizzi und Cirillo und Mordfälle auf Capri – und ihr anstrengendes und nicht uninteressantes Privatleben. Beide ermitteln gern auf eigene Faust, was manchmal auch ins Auge geht, aber am Ende finden sie den bzw. die Täter – und triumphieren über ihre Kollegen aus Neapel. Andererseits sind die Mordfälle eng verknüpft mit Capri, alteingesessenen Familien, Zugereisten, Saisonarbeitern, wohlhabenden Besitzern von Ferienhäusern … Capri-Ambiente umgibt die Fälle, was die Kollegen aus Neapel nicht unbedingt nachvollziehen können.
Duties of Policemen and the Rest of Life – or the Other Way Round …
Enrico Rizzi and Antonia Cirillo are policemen – patrolmen. They are stationed on Capri and deal with traffic offences and other petty crime. Rizzi was born on Capri, knows all the corners of the island and of course all the inhabitants, well: almost all of them. Cirillo comes from the north of Italy, was demoted and transferred to Capri. What she has done … there is no concrete information about that at first. She is a stranger on the island and always gets into trouble, because the sweet southern Italian life doesn’t quite fit in with the northern Italian way of life.
Capri is a bit like a little heaven on earth, especially for the many tourists. Trouble with the tourists and shrewd residents who earn their money from tourism is the order of the day, but then there is a death that definitely has no natural cause. Rizzi and Cirillo investigate … There is another dead man who … and so it goes on. Capital crimes do happen on Capri from time to time.
Capri falls under the jurisdiction of the Naples homicide squad, which does not necessarily suit the local police. The colleagues from the mainland are also not particularly enthusiastic when they have to go to the island, which is rather unfamiliar territory for all of them. Cooperation is the order of the day, i.e. the colleagues from the mainland give out orders and the colleagues on Capri have to jump.
So much for the theory …
On the one hand, Enrico is a policeman with heart and soul and loves his scooter, with which he races all over the island. At the same time, he is the pillar of support for his father, who cultivates extensive gardens where typical fruit and vegetables are grown. His family earns its living by growing fruit and vegetables, the products of which are processed in the island’s numerous restaurants and hotels. It is back-breaking work – also for Enrico – and Enrico’s father is no longer the youngest by now …
It takes Enrico time to keep up with the demands of the family business in addition to his police job. The rest of life takes its toll on him … When he is offered a job in Naples, he refuses. Likewise, he renounces an advanced training course. It remains exciting to see which career Enrico will ultimately choose.
He is around thirty, was married; the marriage was divorced when their young son died as a baby. Enrico now lives with a woman, also divorced, and her daughter. Enrico’s father is pushing for them to marry and bring a son into the world. Let’s wait and see what happens.
Antonia, around forty, used to be an investigator until she ended up as a patrol officer on Capri. What exactly she did, what she screwed up, where she screwed up … remains in the dark for the time being. She was married and is now divorced. Her private life must have played a role in the professional disaster. Her ex-husband now lives in Sweden with their son, so Antonia only has a video relationship with her son. Let’s see what else comes to light and what happens.
In the meantime, she has met a man with whom she forms tender bonds. She finds it difficult to let go and accept her new life. She is still settling in on Capri … and she doesn’t always understand why Enrico simply turns a blind eye here and there. By the way, Antonia is also the one who mostly writes the minutes and struggles with the administration. Enrico likes to push these tasks onto her desk.
So we have Rizzi and Cirillo and murder cases on Capri – and their exhausting and not uninteresting private lives. Both like to investigate on their own, which sometimes backfires, but in the end they find the culprit(s) – and triumph over their colleagues from Naples. On the other hand, the murder cases are closely linked to Capri, long-established families, migrants, seasonal workers, wealthy owners of holiday homes … Capri ambience surrounds the cases, which the colleagues from Naples cannot necessarily comprehend.
